This year we are opening our doors with many new items. We have searched the internet and gift shops to find high quality gift items at reasonable costs. Many items were purchased from locations in Virginia such as Williamsburg and Monticello. We look for items from local artisans and locally produced items.
There are items such as a “White Rose” tea set along with other less formal tea-sets; Five-Finger Vases with blue or green designs; a set of Ruffled Cake-stands, “Blue In Bloom” items; crystal candle holders, coasters, salt & pepper sets and paperweight – all with a “Pineapple” design, and tiles from Dard Hunter.
Many items represent “Adena Mansion & Gardens”: cross stitch pictures, black & white four season pictures, nightlights, “Family Maxims”, Ted Fickisen art work, and new this month just in time for the 208th “Statehood Day”, we have Wendell August Forge aluminum coasters with a depiction of the “Adena Mansion”.
Some items men would like are clay pipes, early reproduction knives, and a Thomas Jefferson pen and ink set.
On our bookshelves, are books on Thomas Worthington, United States presidents, slavery, wars, nature, gardening, cooking and also books by local authors – some are autographed.
Not forgetting the children, there are many reproductions of historical toys, raccoon tailed hats, fox tails, coloring books and items which some girls might find interest in learning: counted cross stitch, spool knitting and making rings using beads.
Many of the items we have are hard to find at reasonable costs. Therefore, quantities are limited. We continually look for unique items and will help you find items you may wish to give as gifts.
Keep us in mind when you have a birthday, holiday, or wedding gift to purchase. Don’t forget, you also deserve to buy a gift for yourself.
